Dr Andrew Kingston
Australian National University
Dr Andrew Kingston received his PhD in Physics at Monash University in 2006 on the mathematics behind computed tomography. He then employed these techniques for a project on distributed data transmission and storage at Ecole Polytechnique de l’Université de Nantes. Since that time he has been a part of the computational imaging group at the Australian National University, centered around X-ray micro-tomography. He is now the director of imaging science at the National Laboratory for X-ray Micro Computed Tomography (CTLab). His research is driven by industrial applications of volumetric imaging and analysis with a focus on improving tomographic reconstruction quality and resolution as well as exploring multispectral techniques to achieve quantitative imaging.
