Crystal Cooper

Crystal Cooper is the Microscopy Lab Coordinator and resident microbiologist specialising in electron microscopy at the Queensland University of Technology’s Central Analytical Research Facility (CARF). After completing a Masters degree in Zoological Science characterising Acoelomate flatworms found on corals she completed a PhD at the University of Western Australia’s Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation and Analysis in conjunction with Parasitology at Murdoch University. This research involved characterising the biology, evolutionary relationships and host-parasite interactions of local Australian Trypanosoma spp. Crystal’s areas of expertise include TEM, SEM, SEM-EDS, FIB-SEM, and confocal microscopy as well as cell, parasite, and molecular biology.
