Rick Webb

Rick Webb originally trained at the University of Queensland in the field of invertebrate zoology before moving on to work in vitro fertilisation and subsequently to microbiology, a field in which he still works. Rick is currently the Senior Laboratory Manager and Senior Research Officer at the Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis at the University of Queensland where he has been instrumental in the development of new techniques for processing biological samples for electron microscopy. While his present research interests relate largely to the design of preparation techniques for biological samples he also has a keen interest in the study of novel bacterial groups and postharvest treatments in horticulture. He is involved in the development of the field of Volume Scanning Electron Microscopy and regularly is invited to international workshops and conferences to present in this area.
